10 reasons why Android is better than iOS
10 reasons, Why Android is better than iPhones
#Customization
Android is a very flexible operating system. It allows it’s
user to shape the UI as the user wants. There are a lot of customization
options available in android, one can change, the home screen, status bar,
notification shade, quick settings panel, heads up panel keyboard and so on.
Play store provides more than a million launchers to choose from. Unlike iOS,
in which you can only change your ringtone and wallpaper.
Root access helps in much deeper level of customization, by
providing custom ROMs. I’ll tell more about custom ROMs in upcoming segment.
#Open Source
Google has kept Android an open source program so that different
firms and developers can try out new stuff to make the OS much better and add
some new experimental features, that’s what custom ROM is. Because of being
open source, there is a lot of variety in UI like the ZenUI, TouchWiz OS,
OxygenOS, MIUI and so on, one can install latest Android 9.0 pie on 3 to
a 4-year-old device. It’s pretty convenient.
Even the split screen feature was first introduced into a custom
ROM (TouchWiz OS) the google adapted it and applied to other androids too.
#Device
Variation
Because android is open source there is a lot of variety in
hardware also.
You love to click photos, you need a large battery life, you need
a gaming device, you need massive speaker, Android is for everyone, no matter
what your requirements are. There are also package phones like OnePlus, Asus
etc.
When I said there is a phone for everyone, I meant literally
everyone. Whether you are a middle class person, below poverty line, or even
rich. Android has everyone. Starting from the range of $30 to $1200!
Globalization has affected the smartphone a lot,
As MKBHD said
“Cheap phones are getting good, and good phones are getting
cheap.”
#Sharing
Android is better than iOS in the matter of sharing, you can
directly send and receive stuff like MP3, MP4, text files and even apps!
Sharing in android is much easier.
Also, android’s interaction with windows is also super snappy! You
can just connect your android to PC, and boom! You can now transfer anything.
It’s that easy.
#Google
camera
There was a time when iPhones were known for their camera quality.
Those good old days are gone, now Google camera is the king of all other
smartphone cameras, especially iPhones.
Google camera is a great camera when it comes on low light
photography, its night sight is pure magic!
It captures much more light than other cameras in same amount of
time resulting in awesome image quality even in low light!
And Google camera is only available for Android phones!
Android provides a larger market for its users. There are over a
million apps!
Moreover many applications that are not listed on the play store
gets there place on the internet market, like ‘Epic games’ has released
‘Fortnite’ for android is not on play store but you can still download it from
the website. There are also different markets like ‘Apkpure’ ‘freemob.org’ and
so on…
#USB C
A lot of android smartphone launched in 2018 and 2019 have a USB C
port, rather than a Micro USB port.
USB Type-C, commonly known
as simply USB-C, is a 24-pin USB connector system allowing
transport of data and power. It is distinguished by its horizontally
symmetrical “reversible” connector. The USB Type-C
Specification 1.0 was published by the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF)
and was finalized in August 2014.
Which means,
1.
Better connectivity
2.
Faster charging
3.
It’s reversible
4.
Every device coming in 2019 are using USB C,
which means one cable for all devices. Except iPhones
#Fingerprint
Sensor
One major advantage that android users have is fingerprint sensor.
When apple released their iPhone X back in 2017, they killed the sensor because
of larger screen size and that notch. On the other hand, Android devices found
the perfect solution for this, some manufacturers implemented the fingerprint
security on the back panel, or the edge of the phone. But the most impressive implementation
is the in-display fingerprint scanner! Yes a fingerprint sensor under the
glass.
Most of the android devices have fingerprint sensor, unlike
iPhones.
#Google
Assistant over Siri
If you compare google assistant with siri, Google’s AI is way
better than that of Apple’s. Google assistant feels more like a real human assistant,
rather than Siri which feels like a machine. A good AI is when humans can’t differentiate
between real man and AI, although google assistant is not the strongest AI out
there, but it’s definitely better than Siri.
#Android
learns and adapts
Android is known for its habit of
learning from others, Apple brought the notch, but now android is having the
better notch implementation like the teardrop notch, hole-punch, no-notch (motorized
cameras). Moreover the innovation is better in android, like the Dual screen
phones, Foldable phones, motorized cameras and what not!
To conclude this, I just wanna say
that there are so many reasons to choose android over iOS, Choice is yours. You
want to pay more than $1000 for a device or to pay less than half the price for
a better device.
